Ephedra is very well respected in the Chinese and Indian drug medicine for over 5000 years to treat various diseases. Asthma and bronchitis is treated with Ephedra, but also colds and flu, Ephedra has shown that it is very effective.

Later in this century Ephedra gained much attention for the possibilities for promoting our metabolism, thermogenic, fat burning qualities and energy. Ephedra supplements quickly became one of the favorite sports supplements for bodybuilders and endurance sports each had to be dispersed and cut for the competition.

In 2004 the U.S. FDA Ban Ephedra products from the plant Ephedra Sinica Ma Huang also because the high amount of Reported side effects associated with Ephedra diet pills. A year later in response to the FDA ban, nutraceutical International Corp., filed suit against the FDA. Our District Judge Tena Campbell beaten down the FDA ban prohibiting enforcement of the ban on Ephedra's nutraceutical supplements that 10 milligrams or less of ephedra. There are plants with ephedra throughout world that does not contain the dangerous alkaloid found in Beijing, it seems quite harmless plants without any of the reported side effects. One of them is found in North America and is also called Mormon tea.
